Windows Phone 8.1 - Laggiest phone OS of 2014.

No doubt Windows Phone 8 was great OS.
It offer very smooth user experience but it lacks features
But now
We have almost the the features we want but now OS is not offer smooth lag free experience as WP8.

Start Screen Lag
Xbox Music lag
Xbox Video lag
Xbox Games lag.
and
We have another new contender
Now even our Lock Screen lag.

We have all the official laggiest apps now.

I think
The problem is MS suddenly became serious about WP and launching too many beta apps one after another.
The only good recent app which MS launched is 'FILES". Which they forgotten after launch.(Seriously no updates in 2-3 months)

I think it's time MS should focus on quality not quantity.
No one asked Live Lock Screen.
but almost every WP users want that they have smooth,fast and fluid XBOX--- M,G.V.

i think you are alone . cause for me wp8.1 is also lag free and use onemusic instead of xbm for better experience. for lockscreen - it is in beta , as i think the public version will use less ram and lag free.

I haven't had any problems. I only notice the lockscreen lag, and that is now that I read about it.
It's a great OS for me.

Yes We don't experience any lags on start screen(atleast not frequently like you) and you are the odd one out....

What phone do you have? Its a little slow on my 1020 but its pretty solid on my 1520.

WP8/8.1 just isn't as fluid as 7/7.5.

It seems to be a hit or miss issue, but my Start Screen lags like crazy on my 1020 with DP. Tiles are all blank as you scroll. I'm hoping final the Cyan update will fix it.

It's L 620.

and It's lag a lot.

The only lag I've ever experienced from WP 8.1 is from Live Lock Screen Beta, but it's a beta that's been out for less than 24 hours, so that is obvious and to be expected. I've never had any lag issues with the lock screen before the beta app and if I cared about it, I could just uninstall it.

Mine will be the whole set of tiles. I'll have just a bunch of blank theme color tiles as scrolling and then it eventually catches up and shows the tiles actually content. I've heard it would happen with Cortana pinned to the Start Screen, but I removed her and it still does it.

Doesn't matter. 8.0 was fine with the same set of tiles. The minute I upgraded to 8.1 DP, lag. I'm really hoping the Cyan update fixes this. Or at the very least, update one this fall.
