Windows phone 8.1 update 1

I am on developer preview 8.1 if I upgrade to update 1 next week will I be able to get cyan update or I would have to downgrade to black to get cyan

No one knows..yet. I would say if cyan has been released for your phone, first downgrade and update to cyan and then enroll in the preview program and download the latest update

There was a article on the WPC main page that stated that MS has fixed the issue with downgrading.

It seems to have disappeared though.

According to some info in the forum, developer updates does not include firmware updates. So you will need to downgrade to 8.0 to get Cyan.

You will get WP 8.1 update 1 as long as you're still enrolled in the DP program. That being said, Cyan is a firmware update, whereas WP 8.1 and update 1 are OS updates. So unless you install Cyan, you will stay on Black. That is until Microsoft has a fix for the issues in place and unblocks the full update for those of us who are still on the 8.1 DP.

I ve a limited data plan... So if Microsoft fixes that bitlocker issue and I m on Windows phone 8.1 update 1 would I will be able to update to cyan without downgrading my phone....
