I am curious if Microsoft or anyone else has released any insight on what features the microSD cards will offer? I really hope it's not just typical boring ole media storage.
  1. Can apps save data to them? ie: Can an app like Spotify store offline playlists on it? Or any other apps that might require huge caches.
  2. Can it add to the on board system memory and be used for the OS? Or does it have to be separate?
  3. Does it support SDXC?
  4. Is it going to require Class 10 rated cards to keep the phone from being sluggish compared to the on board flash storage?
  5. Is it going to drain the battery noticeably more because now the phone has to read/write to two separate flash storage chips?

To me, these are very important questions because I likely will buy extra storage. Especially if more phones like the Lumia 820 really ONLY come with 8 GB on board, which if true, is pathetic for a mid-range phone in late 2012!

Thank you guys for any information!

I would.imagine the card will be for media nd pictures only.

Otherwise the system will be compromised by people who buy cards based on price, rather than performance.
