Windows Phone app for desktop issue with Windows Phone 8.1

Whenever I try to use the Windows Phone app for desktop with my Windows Phone 8.1 I get a message saying the phone is locked despite the fact that it is not. I am running a Windows 7 x64 PC with the latest version of the desktop software. Anyone else getting the same error?

Has your phone gone to sleep? Do you still get that error if you wake up the screen?

There is compatibility problems with both the desktop app and the modern app at the moment. hope they both get fixed. I cannot share my xbox music playlists to my phone at the moment, nor can I see what is on my phone with the modern app. The desktop app sometimes misses songs. Wish it was able to share the playlists from xbox music too since I no longer use iTunes
