windows phone not being recognized by laptop

Hi all, both my lumia 1020 and my htc one m7 aren't recognized by my HP laptop when I plug it in. I want to be able to pull pictures off the phones but I can't if it won't recognize it. It used to work but now it doesn't, however it does charge the phone. I have tried different USB ports. I don't know what's going on. I don't have data so I can't just email the pictures

If the phone's are locked the PC won't recognize them

I don't know what you mean by locked, I have gotten pictures off these phones before

Locked= requires password when swiping up in the lock screen to gain access to your phone

That doesn't seem to be the issue, still not recognizing it. It doesn't show me any option to click on my phone in the folder selection to get pictures in and out

Other option is the connection cable is broken so try a different one

But the phone charges, so its not broken

Go to Devices and Printers. Find your phone, right-click and remove device, plug it back in and reload all the drivers.
