Windows Product Key link to Microsoft Account?

I thought I read a while back that Microsoft will now allow you to link your Windows 7 & 8 products that were used to upgrade to Windows 10 to a Microsoft account for activation at a later date but I cannot find anything on this; Would someone please point me in the right direction...

I ask as a I have 6 Windows 7 / 8 retail copies and I am only using Windows on 3 computers currently. How can I activation the other keys so I can use them at a later date for Windows 10.

I may be wrong, but I think you need to actually upgrade the machines to W10 to get a license for 10. Tomorrow is the deadline. Act fast.

The Windows 10 entitlement key/upgrade is tied to the motherboard. If you sell the PC, so goes your key. It's not interchangeable between Microsoft accounts; it's hardware-based.

No. That's only true for OEM licences. Retail licences can be moved between builds.
