Wired Bose/Mic/Vol headset with 950xl

Bose usually has "For IOS" or "for Samsung and Android Devices" described on their product descriptions. I have heard that the mic and vol controls will not work on Windows Mobile/Phones for the version that is IOS, but will work for the version that is Android. Anyone confirm this has been the case? When I contact Bose, they just say "hey we have a blue tooth one too and you should use that!"

With QC 15:

- Microphone works.
- Play/Pause button works.
- If you leave play button pressed, Cortana comes up to hear your commands.
- Volume buttons don't appear to work.

So there's that.
(Tested with Lumia 950)

Edit: Also this was with the included cable that works correctly with my iPod.

I don't know if the new headphones work differently, though I suspect it is the same.
