WM10 Battery Drain on 1520

I updated to WM10 10586.29 and now when my battery gets to 70% To 75% it will drain down do 2% in an hour. I have location, Hey Cortana and most background apps turned off and still get the drain. Any Ideas? Am i stuck till a fix is released?
Also I just noticed while charging it takes forever, but when it get's to 40% it goes up to 100% in less than 10 min.

So I did a soft reset with 70% left on my battery and when it rebooted it said it was at 2% and shut down.
I plugged it in to my PC and it could not even reboot without shutting down, So I plug it into the factory charger and within 5 min it is back up to 39% charge. Any ideas?

I'm using the Lumia 950XL and am having a similar problem. Check your Battery Saver to see what it's drawing the power so much. For me, it's the Messaging app, which is ridiculous!

Nothing abnormal, it shows groove music at 25% but I use it 2 house a day. And 71% in use 28% background.

On my 1520 Groove also used a lot, 27% in the past 24h. The phone used 64% of the battery, and a quarter of that is due ro groove. There's no way a music playing app should use more than a few percent of the battery capacity... right? What the heck is Groove doing?

Today my 1520 battery drained twice on me, mostly the system is using the battery. Definately worse since the 12/17 update.

Mine seems better since W10M Build 10586.36, the battery has not drained for two days now. Keeping fingers crossed.

agreed on .29 battery drain is bloody amazing. More on that my area LTE coverage is so bad that it keep switching between edge 3g and LTE which made it worst. I see improvement in .36 build, but still draining

i'm experiencing this issue also on my 1520. while on charging it just goes up to 100% in an instant. i don't know how that happen. i'm scared if my battery is starting to malfunction or is it the OS itself?

How old is your phone? It sounds exactly like the battery is approaching the end of its life. No big deal - you can change it yourself or have a service shop do it.

have you installed the .36 build yet? it took care of my battery drain.

my phone has the same problem even after 10586.36 version...draining really fast and hours to charge.n my phone is heating at the top right corner at the back.

Calm down. I have W10 on my Surface, no complaints about the battery or performance. On phones battery life has just regressed to Androids and iPhones, which is to say it is average now. Keep in mind WM10 is not officially released for most of the phones that run it.

calm down? dude I am calm, I'm just saying what EVERYONE thinks and feels.. and ummm I have windows 10 (second time installing) on my SP3 and the battery isn't so bad this time but the first time I installed it the battery lasted only 3 or 4 hours! now it doesn't even last as long as it did when I had win8.1 before... used to get like 10 hours.

Yep, im on latest build now, it still drains faster, even im not using it. I guess i need to replace my battery but, here in PH, it looks like theres no service center i can go and also the battery of 1520 is difficult to find.

I doubt you need a battery with a one year old phone, mine is two years old and the battery is fine now with current build, yes it drains faster than 8.1 but with moderate use i get home from an 10 hour day with 52%-54% battery left.

My phone has not fully drained since i put .36 on it.

Hmmmm.......... I agree with GazooAz, it's not likely to be the battery if the phone is only one year old.

When did they stop making the 1520?

My 1520 has this issue also.
I charge it 100% after use one hour the message appear " Battery critically low " and after press OK it goes shut down.
When I am playing games it just still 10 minutes or less and shut down.
this issue appear after i update to WP10 and I back to 8.1 and the problem still.
I am from Yemen - Middle East.
