won't install apps

I just purchased the 1520 used, but clean and had it set up at ATT store. Phone works well, facebook and yahoo.mail works, but I can't get Cortina to work or can't install an app. I registered with microsoft and signed in but still won't download any apps. Can anyone help me, is it because it was used by someone else previously, do I need to reinstall windows 8 and if so how?

You've got to go to settings->about (windows phone) and click restore... It'll restart and should start working as always..
