I truly adore windows phone as it is right now. My 1520 feels perfect, but I am scared of what windows 10 shall bring. I mean when is Microsoft approximately considering to release the consumer preview for phones? In june, july? I feel that unless they use all of their workforce, they won't be able to polish all of this mess. Though I do plan to try this preview once office gets released, it seems to me that they just don't have enough time...

See if you can't get Update 2 while it's available. Seems like a 1520 with BT keyboard connectivity (and Miracast or USB screen projection), Office, and the current setup will be the pinnacle for the current incarnation of WP.

W10 will be a different beast - I'm curious, but I'm thinking of it as a reboot in my own mind, so much looks to be changing.

No don't try to get it, its a relatively minor upgrade and it'll try to install 10 automatically anyway.
