WP 520 infinite gears

Hi all,
I just try to update my WP520 and right now, it shows me the moving gears with no progress for the last 30 minutes. Nothing more.

Problems?

P.S.: Just successfully updated to 8.1 GDR 1 Preview for Developers and then backed up. Am Hard Resetting now myself; for that minty fresh feeling.

Did a hard reset and got the gears again, but the status bar under them is moving now! lets hope it keeps going.

How to do a hard reset on my lumia 820

I tried with:
- removing and inserting the battery -> infinite gears
- power button AND Volume DOWN (soft reset) -> infinite gears
- Volume DOWN during boot (hard reset) -> Nokia logo and reboot, Nokia logo and reboot,...

Right now I am downloading the firmware with Nokia Recovery Tool. Damn it!

I might be heading that way too.. the status bar hasn't moved now in while.. I'll give it a little more time being I at least got some movement on the status bar..

It's now moving again.. almost 1/4 of the way through.. I think its working!

Do you have a SD card in your phone? one thing I did is take that out before I did the hard reset. Don't know if that did anything.

Ya... There is a MMC in the phone, but I didnt take it out before resetting. May be thats why mine is not working. Still there is no progress.

Can I do one more reset after taking out the MMC ?

yeah you shoud be about to do it again. try taking it out and doing the hard reset again.

You should turn off batery saver before the update.

i also had the same problem of infinite gears moved around 45 min on my lumia 820......i took out the battery removed my sd card and then power on the phone ......and then after 10-15 min it updated .......so try this..
