WP 8.1 Update 1 for HTC 8X?

I found this on the HTC website today Windows Phone 8X for Verizon ROM Update 7.8.2014
First, check your current software version by navigating to Settings > about> more info .

If on firmware revision number lower than 3030.0.42201.605, update your device by navigating to Settings > phone update > check for updates. This will update your device to firmware revision number 3030.0.42201.605.
I checked no luck here.

It's not WP8.1
I have that '605' firmware version from that last update a month ago that only fixed bugs.
My current OS is WP8.0.10501.127
My current firmware revision number is 3030.0.42201.605
Verizon (USA)

I think maybe the different firmware numbers ('899') mentioned in this thread from the month old update might be outside US or locked or some other reason. But I definitely have that '605' version and I do not have WP8.1

The 899 is for the os not firmware my firmware is still 3030.0.41301.605 not 3030.0.42201.605

I'm sick of waiting for 8.1 and Bell who seems to have completely written off WP.

Should I keep suffering or bite-the-bullet on the 8.1 dev work-a-round?

Best you go for the Developer Preview at this stage. If you notice any unbearable bugs just try a hard reset and you should be good to go!

kingbuzzo- Alex is right. 8.1 dp works great on my unbranded 8X. I did a hard reset after updating, just to start fresh. Enjoying it since.

You wont regret it. No need for a hard reset after installing.. Unless you have some issues. I never did.
