I'm not sure why they yanked the Lumia 521; it seemed to be selling fairly well. It is still readily available directly from T-Mobile, so it's not EOL or anything.
 
That's strange they don't have the 521, since it was a consistent top 10 selling device.
 
Are these numbers pretty good for phones that are like 5-6 months old(Lumia 928) and 2012 devices like the920?

They're actually not bad. It is clear that MS is in 3rd place and will remain there at least until WP Blue. The numbers all got skewed since the new iPhone released since it now accounts for half of all SKUs due to the various colors, versions, and storage sizes.
