I am running Windows 10 build 1809 in S mode on my Surface Go. I was seeing frequent crashes in wpcsc64.exe - about one every other day. I wasn't able to find out just what this EXE does, but it appears to be related to the PanelCalibration Service. I have disabled this service, and so far, no more crashes in wpcsc64.exe.

Have you also seen crashes in this EXE? Any idea exactly what PanelCalibration Service does?

I've seen a few posts on other sites and wpcsc64 seems to be associated with automatic brightness adjustment. By coincidence, I already disabled it from startup because I was disabling unnecessary startup services and didn't see a point to that.

I just got a replacement Surface Go from MS (under warranty). I brought the system up to date, and installed a few apps. Behold, lots of wpcsc64 crashes! So Microsoft has not resolved this problem yet. As before, disabling the PanelCalibration service seems to make the crashes stop.
