Writeit makes the Yoga Book much better

So for those that don't know, the screen on the Yoga Book does not have palm rejection. Only the Halo keyboard has palm rejection. That puts a serious damper if you want to convert writing to text. Luckily, Lenovo has an answer for this. (and Lenovo didn't include it for some reason)

It's called Writeit!

The software will convert your handwriting into text. Better yet, you can write anywhere on the screen. the only caveat is that you have to start writing within the green box. Then you can go outside the box if need be.

Cooler yet is that in landscape mode, you can have access to both the Halo keyboard and the onscreen keyboard.

I suggest trying it out if you like taking notes that way. The software itself could definitely be more intuitive but you will get use to It. I even wrote this post using Writeit so I could get used to it. I think it works better than what's included in Windows 10.

I haven't used Writeit yet, but I assume that palm rejection is still not working properly? When you rest your palm outside the green box, will it still recognize it and therefore disturb Writeit? So it makes things easier on the YogaBook screen, but does not really solve it, right?

Well, the screen doesn't support palm rejection, only the Halo keyboard supports palm rejection. WriteIt is (at least, IMO) better than the handwriting recognition that's built in to Windows 10. Granted, I haven't used either in a while since I'm becoming more accustomed to using the keyboard on the Halo portion.
