Seen some great offers on the x3 lately and im tempted upgrading from my 640XL.
However, I really like the step counter option that the 640XL and SensorCore offers.

Does the x3 work with step counter apps like Fitbit and Microsoft Band where you let the phone itself do the step counting (not the Band)? Does it even have the SensorCore to track steps?

Does the x3 have any settings Movement Data like the Lumias does?

Im mostly thinking about something similar to Lumia Movement Data (Settings->Addon->Lumia Movement Data) that gives you the option to increase the positioning tracking to work with the step counter in the Microsoft Band or Fitbit app?

Anything Lumia specific is only found on the Lumia models. This is big draw back to moving to another OEM model Windows phone. The OEM has to create their own apps/services/settings for consumers to use and that is if they even go that far to do so. To answer your question no, it does not contain the Lumia motion data settings app. It has all the same sensors as the 950s except the "senor core" and barometor but it also lacks the OEM support to bring similar lumia-like features to it. I suspect mainly due to the Elite X3 being enterprise focused device.

Thanks Nate, a Swedish retailer had it for a very good price during the weekend, 50% off the normal price. Hence my sudden temptation to get one.

Will it Count steps at all using any of the other sensor or maybe thats not even accurate?

Hi, yes, it count steps with the Active Fitness app. This app is quite useful although on my X3, it cannot keep history of steps you did in the past.
