Xbox 360 and Storage

Makes sense, yeah. The console can format external drives and flash drives for use as external storage, so I don't know why a similar thing wouldn't be possible for an internal one. I'm just unsure if, because it would be internal, that it would try to be taken as the boot drive and fail because it had no OS. Not sure how the boot process on the 360 works.

Going to hook the HDD into a secondary sata port and set it as slave then format it to FAT32 and hope i can then format it on the console

Just one more question...

Can you also use the backwards compatability function for the 360 with your HDD to play original Xbox Games

I don't understand. Does that question relate to the hard drive? If so, I have been able to play Xbox games on the 360s. Remember tho, all games are not supported.

I formatted the drive to FAT32 using Linux and nothing happened. Do i need a special utility to format it after FAT32 or could it be an internal problem with the Xbox
