Xbox 360 slim power supply fan.

Hello, the power supply fan is making a loader noise than the console. Does this mean I have to replace it? Can I use the power supply from the original Xbox 360? Also if I don't replace it, will a power surge or anything like that cause damage to the slim?

My friend borrowed his 360 to me while he was out of town and I was surprised how much noise the power supply was making. I shut down the console and left the room and soon started wondering if I still didnt turn it off cos of the noise coming from the living room, it was the power supply But it wasnt behind the TV set etc at that time, cos I only had it for such a short time that the power supply was basically in front of the TV so it was more audible than if it was in a more usual place.

Your Power Supply should be fine
My Xbox 360 S power supply humms and its not noticible while you playing but as a precaution try spraying it out with a can of compressed air as dust and debris might have settled on the fan causing it to hum louder
