Xbox accessories app is glitched?

I'm trying to change my controller configurations on my XB1 elite controller through the accessories app on the console. However, trying to change it to the configuration I want only results in the app putting "Config 1" instead of the one I intended. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it with no success. Please help me figure this out so I can play the games I want with the controller scheme I need to play it.
