I'm sure many here disagree, but I would prefer MS not do anything to support play on a SteamOS. In fact, I would prefer that MS make their games intentionally incompatible with Steam OS. Steam OS is a strategic threat to Microsoft Windows, and in turn to its other services, to the extent they leverage the Windows install base.

Many Xbox gamers don't want MS to port the games to PlayStation, but I find Steam OS to be vastly worse than PS. Sony is an honest and legit competitor with the PS. Valve can't claim the same with Steam OS.

I have nothing against Steam in general, but Steam OS is only even legal by a peculiar twist in copyright and patent law where there is currently no legal protection for software or custom API's like there is for other forms of intellectual property. So Valve pirated them and is now working to bypass Microsoft Windows, and their work and expenses in creating the APIs so many games use. And to the extent Valve succeeds, this takes away Windows' competitive advantages over Mac OS, iOS (on iPad Pro), and other Windows alternatives.

I find Steam OS to be an unethical attack on Microsoft and think it's something Windows Central should cover as such. That doesn't mean you can't point out what it does well or better than Windows (and I fully acknowledge that MS has brought this on themselves by failing to address this need on their own), just that as part of any news story on a Microsoft-oriented site, recognize that part of the news is that Steam OS is an attack on Windows.
