Xbox Live points

hey guys..recently i upgraded from HTC HD7 to LUMIA 520 and so far its been an easy transformation...i had problem understanding 2 things

1) I had synced my contacts on my HD7..now that i am on Lumia..i deleted10 contact and synced again...now it says "not up to date and failed to sync 10 contacts" ??
what does it mean ??

isn't it supposed to remove those contacts from my Microsoft account and simply sync without any error ??

2) I recently started playing xbox titles on Lumia and got achievements points...apart from spending it to buy stuffs for my Avtar (which is pretty useless ) what else can i spend on it which is meaningful ??

i just have 225 points -_-

also..in INDIA there isn't much promotion by Microsoft(NO xbox surveys so no points )...so how do i gain more points ??

Achievement points are just something you get for doing certain things in games.
i.e. finish level 1 - get 5G

Microsoft points are what you use to buy things. These have to be purchased. I've found that they're only really useful for Xbox360 stuff (like DLC or Xbox Live Arcade games)
On your phone, you're pretty much limited to items for your avatar.

I'm not too sure about your other issue but I bet there is someone here who can help.
