Xbox Music Not Allowing Single Purchase

I'm having the same problems. I want to use my 10 credits but can't on the phone (Lumia 830) and Windows 8.1 Music app won't recognize my credits. I understand the pre-release issue on the phone but it not working on the desktop app is inexcusable. The workarounds above of downloading the Music Hub Tile app works for me.
