Camera module placed in the corner..... no, no, no, no, no!!! The overall body is too round for my liking as well.

Nokia got it right - put that camera toward the center of the body.

I'd buy a Surface Phone that came with WP8.1(notification center, quick toggles, sound profiles) + Cortana.
