Big fan of microsofts new direction. Have 10 on desktop, and a Teclast x98 plus II tablet (solid device, and I prefer 4:3 for consumption)

(Using BB10 on a Q5 lol, for my mobile, but kinda waiting for the likely merger of Win 10 with Win 10 mobile before I shift to windows on a mobile. Plus I love PKB).

Just installed the creators edition on both. Lot to get used to here! Like game mode on the tablet (not that its easy to trigger without keyboard), and nightlite so far.

Got into computers when I was a kid. Vic 20. Amstrad 64. Bulletin boards and IBM.

Always loved tech, but don't always love the way its used. Better if its built to serve us, rather than us to serve it.

Anyway, hey :)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

With my bb10 device growing old, and windows 10 on arm around the corner, could be time late this year for me to get myself a phone too, and become a full Microsoft man.

Reckon there must be a 2gb or 3gb or 4gb device that's a bit cheaper from last few years that can handle the upgrade! :) Maybe the 4s will be cheap enough by then....

Wonder what else they have planned in wearables, too? :) I've been using a xiaomi mi band 2. I know they stopped the Microsoft band, but I suspect they have something else in the works their too. A smart home device seems likely as well.

That skype bot/Cortana fusion shouldn't be far off. That's going to be _dope_. Played with a few of them bots. They naturally converse well with text.

When that happens a smartwatch might actually be quite useful/useable.

Welcome!! I just joined myself.

I had a Blackberry Q5. Great little phone. Some days I miss the physical keyboards. I also had a Z10 too (I honestly change phones yearly haha). Using a Samsung S7 right now. Like I said in my post, I love the direction Microsoft is taking with their suite of apps and programs.

It still does me pretty well tbh. Yeah, I am sure I'll miss physical keyboards when I switch. But I am sure there will be something eventually for windows, even if its like a mini netbook.

Samsung and microsoft's little alliance is clever. They might just position themselves for a joint take-over later on. Meantime they promote each others products.

For android and windows - the OSs of the future will have to play together. It's only smart they do so now, from the beginning. Otherwise how will ubiquitous computing happen? (IoT) It's a must long term.

I'm very eager to see how bot's on Cortana work. A good implementation could replace touch for at least some people. It would make the watch, jewelry or glasses FF also much more practical.
