Your Face & Name will appear in Google Ads starting Today

I didn't see that on my Note 3 or my Nexus 7 during setup. It wasn't on my sisters Chrome book or my Gmail account. I have sold my Note 3 and Nexus 7. I have also basically closed my Gmail. My sister still has the Chrome book thought it sit on a shelf sense she got a Dell Venue Pro 8 for Christmas. I have experience with these devices.

I saw it today on a Nexus 4, during setup, specifically asking me if using my location to improve services was ok as well as the more general one. mentioned elsewhere.

Similarly, Google Now will not use your location or data from your email inbox or calendar or search history, until you open it for the first time and accept terms and conditions. G+ and Auto-upload on your phone also ask for permission first before starting to do so. Making these endorsements 'opt-out' is scummy to say the least, but you know what they say - there ain't no such thing as a free lunch. Somewhere, somehow, you are paying. Please check again if you happen to have an Android device still around.

I never said anything about privacy I get that nothing is secure on the internet but I called out how google is making money with your info and google users are ok with it. and nokia is NOT the same as google. they are not out to make money out of getting your info on what you search up unlike google

It's just a different business model.

Google provides a service for free and uses information about you to target ads in response. Nokia sells you hardware (although now it seems that they're serving ads in HERE maps...) and makes money from that. I know more than most people about how Google collects data and I do believe that their services are worth the trade.

The funny part is how MS can put ads into Win 8/8.1, something that I did pay $40 for, and get away with it: Windows 8.1 Smart Search advertising tracks all user searches | BGR

Fine. When Microsoft starts using my face and name in ads give me a call and I'll dump their services. Until then, Google is king of this particular dung heap.

People please make sure you know and understand the difference. I don't want you to believe me I want you to do the research yourself so that you know the facts. Nowhere on any Android device setup does it ask you if Google can use your personal identity markers to target advertise others. Now understand the difference. Whatever you put on a Google server via Google services belongs to Google. By placing your email, pictures, phone numbers or whatever you put on a Google server it becomes Googles intellectual property. You surrender all your rights to that data the second the data is uploaded.

Microsoft clamed no rights to any of your data uploaded to Microsoft servers via Microsoft services. It is stated in the terms of conditions that your personal data is yours Microsoft will not use your stuff, period.

Please don't believe me go do the research yourself once you have what you need please come and prove me wrong.

They can go ahead and use my name all they want. They just better have a Spanish-speaking person review my name as it appears on my account before they post. Let's just say it's the kind of Spanish name you'd have if you used Viagra. Frequently.

I don't mind Google using my face...but I want my commission, no less than 25%

Or ill change my photo to me wearing a t-shirt saying "I hate Google"
