Your outlook account settings are out of date

Its been two days since i got my last mail on outlook from my windows 10 mobile. whenever i open Outlook Mail, it says "Your outlook account settings are out of date".
I've already tried deleting and resetting my account. I also lost all my contacts in the process as outlook is not able to sync any thing on my phone. Whenever i "fix" the issue from 'settings > accounts > Email and app accounts' another notification pops out saying the same thing again and again. Please help me out. Thanks

Check if date/time/region are set correctly.. this can mess things up

You need to be logged into your MS account on your start lock screen not your local account
