Zune issues

I sure hope Zune gets an update soon. I have been using an ipod touch for a few years (no iphone) for my music, videos, audio books, email and apps, and I wish Zune would at least these two features from itunes.

I am just about out of space on my Titan II. I do not see anywhere where it tells me the size of the individual app/game so I can determine which ones to remove. I really don't have much installed, so I am not really sure where all my HD has gone. Zune does show how much the music, photos, and videos are taking up, but everything else is lumped in. It shoes 8.78 GB of "reserved space and other content" and I have my reserved space setting placed at 0 %.

I have had to go back to my ipod touch for audio books. When I add an audio book to my music collection and play it from my phone, it does not remember the playback position when I play it again. That will not work.

There are other things that I have mentioned before but these two are really frustrating me at the moment.

Music + Videos (Zune) on the phone remembers the exact position of anything unless you reset the device.

I will have to try it again as that didn't work before. For example: I would listen to my audio book and have it paused. I would pick up my son, play songs for him and when I would go back to my audio book the next morning it would not be where I left off. Is there something I should be doing different?

Thanks.

Yup... the audiobook on Zune doesn't work the same way as on the iPhone or iPod. Zune remembers the "last thing" you did. So if you played songs after you listened to your book then Zune will only remember the last song you played.

I've listened to audio books on a Samsung Focus. It goes back to where I left off regardless of what I do in between or for how long. Same thing on 2 Zune HDs. Can't imagine what you may be doing or not.

Oh, and as for space-checking for reserved-space content: I delete an audiobook, for instance, and see how much it frees up. I can always re-sync it easily. Audiobooks are spacehogs.

That is exactly what I am experiencing.

I actually don't have any audiobooks on the phone at the moment, as I just went back to my ipod for those, so they are not taking up any space. I just wish there was a way to find out which apps or what it using so much space. 9 GB is quite a bit for just apps and reserved space.

It would also be nice when shuffling that the same song would not play twice before a new one does.

Sorry, I was wrong about my Focus: I only have Audible books on my two Zune HDs where they do work as I reported above.

Reserved space also includes emails, text messages and pics. Emails, depending on how many accounts you have and how many days worth you sync can have a huge impact. How many people clean up sms and FB messages? I'm sure your Titan II with 16MP camera will take up a lot of space.

I don't have that shuffle problem, that was a serious issue tho in the HTC Sense player on the older WM and Android phones.

Pictures, according to Zune when my phone is connected, are located separately and shows how much space they take up. I have less than 1 GB of pictures on my phone currently. It must just be apps/games taking up so much space.

I don't use Facebook and only have one email account with the inbox synced. I clean my inbox all the time and currently have 10 messages in it.

Yeah that's pretty confusing. Zune settings clearly states they are under reserved and others. Very confusing.
