Supposedly it's going to be 4.7 inches like the Titan but adding in LTE. That would mean the Titan killer is right around the corner. Now I'm seriously debating waiting till after CES before I lock myself into a 2 year contract.

HTC Elite flagship phone and 4G LTE Windows Phone to hit AT&T in early 2012

BGR has learned from a trusted source that HTC is preparing to switch up the company?s strategy a bit in 2012. In order to focus getting quality products to market, we have heard that HTC?s release schedule is going to be shockingly quiet for most of the first quarter next year. HTC will also release fewer phones overall in 2012 compared to 2011, we?re told. We?ve also been given exclusive details surrounding several upcoming phones from the Taiwan-based vendor, including HTC?s first 4G Windows Phone for AT&T and its flagship Android handset for the first half of the year. Hit the break for more.

HTC is currently set to deliver an HTC Titan-like smartphone with a 4.7-inch display and 4G LTE to AT&T ? the first LTE Windows Phone we know of ? and the release date is currently slated for February 5th, so we should expect a CES announcement. Additionally, we got word that HTC?s flagship handset for the first half of 2012 will be called the HTC Elite. Joining the HTC Ville and HTC Edge, the Elite will obviously run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it will also have Beats Audio as well. AT&T is going to carry the handset according to our source, and it may launch as the ?HTC Congressional,? sad though it may be. The phone is currently scheduled to launch during the first or second week of April. That?s all we have for you for the time being, but stay tuned as we?re working on getting our hands on photos of both phones.

I'm sure the people who complain about not having new phones come out fast enough, will soon change their complaints to "WTH, I just upgraded, now I have an out of date phone!". Can't please 'em all.

Yeah I have about 7 days to decide if I'm going to keep my Titan. I'm going to see if this pans out by Friday and then I will make my final decision.

Would be nice though to have some high end WP7 options on Tmobile, who seem to have no problems stocking high end androids, so the usual excuse that they are a budget carrier doesnt really ring true.

What usually kills me is when people run to get the latest LTE phone, and live in an area that doesn't have it and won't for quite some time.
I'm sticking with my Titan until next year. Waiting to see what Nokia is going to throw at us next. =D

I have a friend that has an LTE Android phone, and he pretty much begged me to show him how to disable LTE and just use 3G. He said his battery life is about half a day with LTE enabled.

Smh... Decisions decisions. Then again, for a penny, I'll take that hit. I'll probably add a line for a Nokia or the HTC.

There are other problems to consider. There's still no word on whether the two ROM updates will be released for the AT&T version of the Titan. According to some international Titan owners, the two updates fixed the audio popping and wifi connection problems. Then there's the light bleeding on the Windows logo. Not exactly a deal breaker but most definitely will never be fixed. Finally there's the issue with call quality that many owners are running into. Waiting seems like a pretty good option when the "fix" is only a month and a half away.

Didn't know the Titan was having all those problems! Sounds like you should take it back and wait for a newer phone for sure! If the new phones don't interest you, just get the Titan again.

Sad that AT&T, continues to dominate the competition with new and up coming WP7's. Hopefully CES tells me some good news.

Maybe sad for you but not for m I am a long time Cingular ATT customer and I am happy that ATT has been stepping upi to the plate with WP devices and appears to be continuing to do so. While it may be a while before LTE gets to my area they already have two android ready LTE devices the vivid and galaxy skyrocketwhcih both have large screen dual core HSPA+/LTE ready speeds I wish they were WP devices but I am waiting to see what happens with the Nokia 900 and the Elite I hope they are both released in February.

Yeah... I used to be on Cingular as well, and even AT&T when it rebranded. I actually just switched from AT&T to Verizon August of last year. Just got to see what's going to happen, might even switch back to AT&T if Verizon continues to "ZOMG LTE OR NOTHING". Which I don't even think my area has 4G, I haven't talked to anyone about it. Nor have I seen people locally posting stuff about 4G, on other forums and websites. I just want a decent WP7 device, and I'm not going to get a HTC Trophy because right around the corner HOPEFULLY is new devices.
