Currently, the audio infrastructure in Windows 10 is the same as in Windows 8.1. That means that the windows mixer decimates high-res audio so that playback of files are no longer bit perfect. You must still use either an ASIO or WASAPI driver to get around the quality problems that are inherent in the current design. What is the point of being able to play lossless files (new ability to play .flac files) if you wind up losing quality anyway? Please Microsoft, address the shortcomings of the Windows audio infrastructure BEFORE adding on new file format support!
