Nokia Lumia 1520 running Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.29

Windows Messaging App ver. 1.11.19004.0 does not receive new notifications nor does it update message threads unless the handset is rebooted. The Messaging Live Tile NEVER SHOWS A NOTIFICATION COUNT EVER!!! After a reboot, the missing notifications will show up with the time that the messages were sent and the message threads will be updated. Notifications will continue to come in and threads will continue to be updated for the next 10-20 minutes before they cease and the phone needs to be rebooted again. When this occurs, I am unable to reply to message threads and I'm faced with a "Can't Send: We couldn't send this message" error.

In my notification settings, the Messaging app is turned on with the appropriate options selected.

This is proving to be highly annoying and this particular problem has been ongoing since build 10563.

I cannot be productive by constantly rebooting my phone every half an hour just to see new messages.

Is there any fix or work-around? Please don't say Hard reset.

I just noticed that putting the phone in and out of Airplane mode essentially produces the same result as a handset reboot. Texts are coming in regularly now. I don't know if it is as a result of unpinning and repining the live tile or from the airplane mode trick. Either which way, thanks once again and I'll keep everyone posted. 😁😁
