I woke up this morning and turned on my laptop from sleep mode and it went straight to my desktop not to a screen to ask to input my password like usually. Is this normal or some mix up?

it only happens if you have the option on or off.
if you have it on, well that would be the weird thing. so you should check it on power options and change it according. it should respect what you have. maybe if it's on, you could turn it off and then apply and turn it on so you make sure it would be ok.

I believe I have it on. I installed it yesterday and did it plenty of times before and requested a password but this morning it didn't. I'll go check the setting though to make sure
