Why was icon deleted when app was uninstalled (Win 10)

So, I followed your instructions. Easy enough. The icon still appears on the list, why? Shouldn't it go away?

Also, what is best security app for my old Presario CQ62? No heavy usage, but super slow and having various nuisance issues.

Sometimes app icons can stay in start menu, most used/recently used apps list after uninstall. To fix this simply restart Windows explorer; go to Task manager, right click on Windows explorer process and select restart. If not try to restart your PC, that should do the trick.
For security, I'm using Windows Defender with Malwarebytes Anti Malware, awesome and very secure combo, both apps get along pretty well.
