I'm currently having trouble on Windows 10 with disc usage being and staying at 100% at times. After trying out different solutions, I ended up troubleshooting Windows Search, and it says the Windows Search folder has incorrect permissions, and it cannot fix it.

How serious is this, and how do I fix it?

Drives operate best when below 80%, so have that as an aim. If search doesn't work it's probably not the end of the day but it's worth getting it working. What error are you getting?

Hello, same guy here. Thanks for your response. I'm translating these results from finnish, so apologies if they're not entirely accurate.

I used the "troubleshoot Windows Search problems" option, ran it as an admin. When it asked me what problems I'm facing, I chose "searching or indexing slows down the computer".

    Found problems
Windows Search folder has incorrect permissions [Not fixed] X

"When Windows Search -index rights have been configured incorrectly, the search service may not be able to use your computer or update the search index. This may cause the searches to be slow or return incomplete results."

It didn't find other problems. It does say "Return correct permissions to Windows Search folders = Ready", but since this result keeps coming up, I doubt it did it automatically.

The disc usage has noticeably calmed down after using some tips found online, such as disabling app notifications. It still spikes up when installing or downloading though, around 99 percent. I used a program called HDtune to check my hard drive, and it seems to be okay.
