Microsoft pushes out batch of cumulative updates for Windows 10 | Windows Central

Issues? Bugs? Solutions? For all things Build 14393.187 of Windows 10. Discuss it here.

[TIP]Basic tip

If you're having any issues with your device, try a reset.

Settings > Update & security > Recovery > Reset this PC > This provides you with two options: 1. keep my files and 2. remove everything[/TIP]

[TIP]Keep my files

Does just as its name describes. If you choose the setting you can reinstall Windows 10 without having to back up any of the pictures, videos, music and documents that you have stored on it. You absolutely should back up these things just in case, but you shouldn?t need to use that back up. Keep My Files requires a certain amount of free space on your device. As such, it may be unavailable to you if your device is stuffed with a lot of files. If you get an error message asking for more storage when you choose this option you?ll need to back up your files and choose the remove everything option. You could also delete any files that you aren?t using on your device and try the option again. This option will take longer than the other options.[/TIP]

[TIP]Remove Everything

Deletes every file, every setting from your device and gives you a blank copy of Windows 10 to work with. You?ll need to add any files you have backed up to your device again [/TIP]

Here's a Changelog:

  • Improved reliability of Windows Shell, map apps, Internet Explorer 11, and Microsoft Edge.
  • Addressed issue causing push-button reset to not work correctly and roll back on devices with language set to any of the Unicode languages.
  • Addressed issue causing devices to crash after disconnecting an e-reader that was attached to the device.
  • Addressed issue causing devices to not recognize a Secure Digital (SD) card if it is inserted and removed multiple times.
  • Addressed issue causing some apps to not respond to the commands in the app bar in Windows 10 Mobile.
  • Addressed issue that sometimes blocks alarm notifications in Windows 10 Mobile.
  • Improved support for using the camera app in Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise.
  • Addressed additional issues with rendering 4K resolution, missing Start menu tiles when running on battery, Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Edge, Bluetooth compatibility, graphics, display rotation, app compatibility, Wi-Fi, Feedback Hub, Miracast, Windows Shell, revised daylight saving time, and USB.
  • Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows kernel, and Adobe Flash Player.

So I realized the tiles looked better on my eyes for some reason. And It hit me. They no longer do that 3d flip animation which was so bad. They are actually doing it like on mobile now.

Hi! don't know who your asking! No! I'm not having any trouble with Wi-Fi or Google. It might be better if you started your own thread and asked these questions.

Seems ok to me but theres a new one out...

The update brings the Windows 10 build number to 14393.576 (KB3206632), up from the build released last week which was 14393.479. Here's a changelog:

Improved reliability of Security Support Provider Interface.
Addressed a service crash in CDPSVC that in some situations could lead to the machine not being able to acquire an IP address.
Addressed issue where a Catalog-signed module installation does not work on Nano Server.
Addressed issue with Devices left with Hello on for an excessive amount of time will not go into power savings mode.
Addressed issue with gl_pointSize to not work properly when used with drawElements method in Internet Explorer 11.
Addressed issue where Azure Active Directory-joined machines after upgrading to Windows 10 Version 1607 cannot sync with Exchange.
Addressed additional issues with app compatibility, updated time zone information, Internet Explorer.
Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Uniscribe, Common Log File System Driver.
Update has just started rolling out now, so if you can't see it just yet, don't worry, the update is still propagating throughout Windows Update and may take a few minutes to show.

Trying to download this, but it's been stuck at 79% all day; even after restart; any ideas on how to get this going?

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4013429).

so I fixed the problem; went to the Microsoft Update Catalogue, and used the stand alone installer to download and install the update; don't know why I had to go this route, but it worked....

Ugh! Ever since I installed this update this morning, I'm constantly getting BSOD! :unhappy:

I haven't made any changes to my system in quite a while other than installing this update, so I think there is something amiss with the update.

Update: The problems I was having was NOT associated with the Windows Update. After many BSOD and researching the error codes, the error codes were pointing towards a hardware failure. That was upsetting as my new computer isn't even two months old.

More research and scouring various forums lead to the possibility of a bad driver. I rolled back to an earlier restore point before I had downloaded and installed my motherboard's Thunderbolt driver and ALL is BETTER once again!

Whew! I was really scared I had bigger problems that a bad driver. I didn't realize a bad device driver could still to this day cripple a machine.
