For those system administrators that still need to support Internet Explorer on their organization because some legacy website just works on Internet Explorer 8, one of the ways to migrate (Windows or Internet Explorer) is to implement Internet Explorer 11 Enterprise Mode. This allows sysadmins to upgrade and centrally control specific websites to open on "IE8 Mode".

That said...

If you've implemented this and you need to quickly test if some change you've made is working, just do it as following:

  1. Do your changes on Enterprise Mode Site List Manager
  2. Close all Internet Explorer instances on the testing machine
  3. Open the testing machine registry (regedit)
  4. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\Main\EnterpriseMode
  5. Delete the entry called "CurrentVersion"
  6. Open Internet Explorer
  7. Done!

Hope this helps! ;)
