I love my Samsung Focus (though I think I'll soon upgrade to the Nokia 900), but I have a question about syncing my mail. My company recently switched to Gmail, so I now have my personal Hotmail account and my work-based Gmail account co-existing peaceful in my Mail app.
But Gmail functions strangely. Let's say I'm on my PC and use Gmail to send an email. Of course it's now in my Sent folder. I archive it, so it's no longer in my inbox. The phone's app should thus NOT download it as new mail. Right?
Later my Focus syncs all my mail. But apparently it's reading my Gmail's Sent folder as "new" mail, because it alerts me that I now have new mail--but it's not new at all.
Why is my archived, sent mail being marked as new mail in the phone's app?
