First of all, I don't want to criticize or underestimate Microsoft nor Windows phone in any way.
In second place, I'm not a native English speaker, so my main intention is to communicate/get and have, feedback and not to have any grammar classes.
I post this beginning of a thread (since I don't know if it'd be a thread or a single post) in this section because windows phone 8.1 is the closest experience with an actual MS product that I have, and Windows 10 is it's natural successor.
I don't want to polemicize about hb (III) menus nor other intrinsic attributes of the new W10 version.
I only want to share my opinions about the actual MS politics regarding W10 for phones.
I've been an android user for some years but never really liked it. Since I discovered WP 10 I've used a Lumia 720 and then a 530 because of some hardware problems I had with the 720 and considering I'll end my contract in 4 months (and I really didn't have any other interesting WP option in my country aside a $150 more expensive Lumia 630).
Now, what I think, is that MS is going really slow with it's strategy. Meanwhile other platforms are offering much more complete and modern services and hardware (i.e android, ios and other) MS is only offering low end and very similar pieces of hardware while time is running out.
With the potential of a leading brand as Nokia, combined with one of the most powerful and important enterprises in the world as is Microsoft, is this all they can offer us, It's more loyal customers? Or are we going to be happy with transparent tiles (WOW) and some other minor changes, considering they come from the number one software (and now even phone hardware) brand of the world?
All this while more and more apps are going out from the market and we are waiting who know how many months to receive an an OS that would bring some updates that wouldn't even put this OS in pair with it's competitors. Basic Marketing. Is that how they want to attract new costumers? All Wp 8.1 users I know became users by my recommendation.
I'm not asking for a flagship, I'm not asking to throw away hb menus (which by the way are really impractical and uncomfortable), but I'm asking:
Is really only this what two (ex) leaders as Microsoft and Nokia can do? Is MS giving it's Marketing area the importance nowadays it deserves?
Regards and my best wishes
