I did the insiders program last year for 8.1 and at times found myself to be a bit frustrated with the build. I am thinking about making W10 mobile my daily driver. I know all the features won't be there etc. but is it solid enough yet?

I've been using build 166 since it came out (Lumia 830) and it's been great as a DD. Yes, some missing settings but nothing really buggy.
Downloading 512 now.

Build 166 really made it worth having on a daily driver. I've been using W10 Mobile on my daily driver since day one and the first few builds were tough. Very tough, but go for now. Battery life is much improved and it's very smooth to use.

If you're considering the upgrade, use the slow ring :)

Did they fix the bug with Outlook Mail that won't allow it to sync with Gmail accounts? That to me was the biggest issue, well that and the loading loop for the start screeen, and the occasional lock up when ending a call

It was fine for me the first two days. Intolerable after that just because of the dinky small things that irk me.

Works fine for me as my only phone. Been an insider from the start of 10 PC and mobile and besides the odd niggle, I guess I have been rather lucky. Only had to go back to 8.1 for a few hours several builds ago.

I'd say it's ok for a daily driver but besides the settings and action center the rest of it feels like a downgrade from 8.1. :'( I'm getting worried this close to completion.

Wish I could take the settings and action center from 10 and the people hub, photo app and mail client from 8.1.

Battery life was a BIG deal on my ICON with 10166.... Normal day on 8.1 I would go to bed (10-11pm) and have about 30-50% battery life, on 10166 with same use, I would get the "CHARGE PHONE 10%" warning by 5-6pm...needing to recharge to make the rest of the night... 3 days and I gave up on it...and there was a collection of small bugs that I could not live with.

Crossing fingers that 10512 is better but, I will need a few days to know for sure...

Really? My battery life was better on 10166 than 8.1 TP

Interesting, I cleared background tasks and everything else, went through it with a fine tooth comb. Not sure... There was some minor issues that were deal killers for me over all but, that battery was a HUGE one for me...

Do give us a heads-up if the new build is better :D

It's a term I hate to use but it does seem snappier. So "it's faster".

Still really disappointed there are no major missing features from 8.1 that were added to this build.

It's now my Daily Driver on my Lumia Icon. Not going back to Win8.1. It'll be on my Icon until the new Flagship devices arrive and then I'll be using the Official Wni10 Mobile and Lumia 950! (or 940) depending on what is actually the name of the device.

I'm thinking about doing this. I don't think we will get an official win 10 on this device because it's discontinued by Verizon.

So, it's safe/stable enough for a DD?
