10581 loaded on 640xl fine. But home screen has portions of tiles flashing and jumping around. Same thing when I go to listings of all the apps. If I get to settings the screen displays properl:angry:y. What a mess!

Sadly, you need to download the windows recovery tool on your PC, connect your phone via USB, and install windows 8.1. You will likely lose personal items on the phone.

I had this on my Nokia Lumia 635. I was slightly annoyed as I held off deliberately because I got fed up resetting back to WIndows Phone 8.1, but that's exactly what I had to do in the end because the update from 10536 bricked it! :-( <--- That face.

Windows Recovery Tool is the only way to fix it, which will flash your device back to Windows Phone 8.1.

It should be recognised, if your having issues hold down Volume down and the power button when USB is plugged in and the app is trying to detect the phone. I did it through a Windows 7 Virtual Machine, it took a few goes because the phone kept rebooting all the time, but when you find the right flash window the app stops the phone rebooting and it will flash the phone.
