Hi there, I have updated my Lumia to Win 7.8 and I have all new features but one is missing; option to set google as search provider in Internet explorer. I can't restore my phone to try install update once again due to an error 801812E0. Any idea how to get Internet Explorer search provider sorted?

There is no such feature to change the search provider. Create a shortcut to Google.com on your start screen or install the Google search app.

I did little research and it is confirmed that update 7.8 brings the following to Lumia 800;

The changes in WP7.8 are:

1) The New Start Screen
2) More Accent theme colors to choose from
3) You can now change the default search provider in Internet Explorer from Bing, to Google.
4) For the lockscreen you can choose to have Bing’s Daily image as your phone’s lockscreen wallpaper.

It was taken out on the official update. Probably will be released later on, in a different update.

Bing results are more relavent so no loss here. I completely de-Googled myself after the EAS debacle and life has been much easier ever since
