How secure is moving apps to SD Card

Hey Guys

Android has had the feature of saving the apps to SD card for a long time now, which they have now removed with KitKat upgrade. This apparently is due to security concerns users have had where other apps can access your personal data on the SD card.

Now that WP 8.1 has this feature, does anybody know how secure is it to save your apps and apps data on the external card? If I am not wrong, the apps installed on SD card are stored in a hidden partition and are encrypted just like the internal storage. So does this solve the security concern or is there more to it? Why couldn't Google use this approach? Also, what about apps which are moved to SD card from internal storage?

Would really appreciate if someone can throw some light on this topic.

Thanks in advance!!

Its very secure due to the encryption of all of the data.

I can't speak for Google, but I imagine that since Google Drive is falling behind Onedrive and Dropbox, they're trying to push people to the cloud.
