Anyone been able to use a Verizon 928 on T-Mobile?

Just made the switch to T-Mobile since I own my phone and savings of not having to subsidize the device monthly are quite significant .

Problem: I have not been able to get the 928 to work completely.

a) I get voice and data just fine but all 3G. Please correct me here but I don't believe I will ever be able to get on 4G /LTE since the phone itself uses a different band for GSM

B) MMS works fine, with updated APN settings

C) SMS (plan text will not work). Any workarounds here?

Unfortunately, it appears that there are issues with SMS according to this thread.

Have you gotten this to work?
