Hey guys,
i received a Nokia Lumia 1020 locked to the AT&T network. I bought it as a Christmas gift for my wife... she loves her Rogers Lumia 920, and i thought she would love the much better camera.
We are on T-Mobile, so obviously i need this unlocked. I bought the device brand new from ebay.
I have heard of all the struggles, but also of some sucess stories of unlocking this beautiful phone.
I tried to unlock the phone online on at&t's website, and said that this device is not eligible to be unlocked.
I called AT&T and they said the same thing. I told thtem that i boguht it at full price, and demanded it be unlocked. So they opened a case for me.
Anyone have luck once a case is opened with AT&T to unlock this phone? I dont think the phone was ever activated on their network, but cannot say that it was bought at full price from the original owner. I was once an AT&T customer, and my account was closed in good standing, 0 balance. So that may help.
What are your thoughts? Think i can get this done this way? if i get denied, can i keep trying with them, or maybe ask to speak to a supervisor or above?
Appreciate any input.
