Off-topic slightly - anybody else finding WPCentral mobile site running like a dog at the mo? Don't use it generally but sometimes have to hit it to open a video link or whatever and it's painful. Guess it's just kinks to iron out post-refurb.
I was thinking the same thing too. ESP since the new web design, the site is slow and becoming more tedious to operate. Thoughts Daniel?

Even the full site on my PC takes longer than anything else to load. I think it's because of all the ads.

Microsoft solitaire is the only game that overheats my phone and drains the battery on the 920. I think there is something wrong with the game, not the phone.
I also have problems with Nokia Drive. Although I've not tried it since I wiped the phone and upgraded to 8.1

Just wondering if they are both using 3G for that test?

If the 1020 is on 4G that could explain why its faster when it opens apps using data.

630 is not the same as the 830. The 1gb ram helps a lot you know. It doesn't bottleneck the power of the 400. Just look at what the moto G can do. Now imagine that kind of power on WP. 1.2x4= 4.8Ghz. 1.5x2=3Ghz. And if I'm not mistaken the adreno 305>adreno 220/225. And since they both have 1gb ram too. There is nothing wrong with the 830 lol. You get a micro sd card slot and a faster CPU and better GPU. You also get a bigger screen. Why doesn't it cut the mustard? Even the camera is improved.

I believe the 305 is way inferior to the 220/225 in GPU performance.

Did some quick research. The 305: Qualcomm Adreno 305 - NotebookCheck.net Tech
    225 (as in Lumia 920 S4): Qualcomm Adreno 225 - NotebookCheck.net Tech

For the most part, yes, the 305 seems faster. Not sure why I thought it was slower. Maybe I was thinking of the dual core S400.

That can't be! The number is bigger therefore it has to be better!

Processor"s don't work like that, there are architectural differences, and a large number of apps can't use multiple cores at once or efficiently.

For now clock speed is more important than more cores.

I guess ultimately, we now know that the battery lasts longer, by using a decent processor, I'm sure it will fare better than my recent 820/920 that has a ****e battery. I think the 720 has the specs combination that leads to one of the best battery life among the Lumia 😁. I mean seriously... 2 days without a charge and it's still 30% like a champ.

But as time moves on apps will use them more efficiently. Especially since the majority of new WPs that are coming out have 4 cores. You can already see increased loading times in subway surfers and the game runs more smoothly (630 vs 520) also Skype resumes better on quad core devices than on dual core devices. Look it up. A WP website tested this.

The GPU in the 820, 920, 925 and 1020 was the same one clocked to 1.5 ghz. Only the 1320 was at 1.7. The 1520 was the only x20 to use an 200,400,600 or 800. Decide for yourselves: Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 vs 400 MSM8226 - System on a Chip Comparison

All I can say now is that 1gb ram will certainly change things. Remember the 520 vs 525 benchmarks? And considering what the moto g can do with android. The same chipset should perform excellent on WP but we haven't seen any benchmarks yet so I can't confirm that.
