Should I buy the Lumia 930 or wait for the 950?

Draconian choice : should I buy now the lumia930 for 300? or should I wait for the lumia940 (if price isn't superior to 438 $) ?

Problem : rumors are the the 940 will be pricier than the Iphone 6 !

When the 930 came out in the Netherlands it was 550 euro and it now dropped to 350 euro.
And second hand you can get it for 200-250 euro.
I do not know what the 940 will cost but i guess at least 500-600 euro.
So if you still can wait about 2 month's you will know the spec and price of the 940 (and the 930 price will probably drop further).

In france, it's sales time and the 930 is at 299 euros today (rueducommerce.fr).

But you may be right that when the 940 will be out the 930 price will drop.

So, you really don't think that the 940 can't cost less than 400 euros ?

I would be very surprised if the introduction price would be that low.

I guess there will be a rather expensive 940xl to close the gap between the small tablets and the phones.

Specs wise I wouldn't be surprised if it is a x86 CPU, 3-4gb of ram and 64gb eMMC (like the surface3). Price around ?600 and a little dock for ?150 all to show off continuum.

The normal 940 could be an snapdragon 808/810 device coming later (due to problems with heat and probably it is harder to make arm work with continuum) price the ?550 range.

But since win 10 for phones is later than win 10 for PC, I guess the new flagships will not come for v the next 2-3 months.

It's your money but I would go for the 930 (I actual have one) and I will probably go for the next successor of the 940 which should be available some where mid 2016. But if you can wait till begin september because then the 940 should be announced.

I regret to have bought the 930.
It's not a good phone.
Try to get another phone....
I prefer my wife's 735

I did not say it's not good phone, I have it and I like it more than my 920 or 925. Watchaa said it's not a good phone and I have no idea why..

The 940XL is almost certainly Microsoft's code name Cityman ( Specs revealed for two new Windows 10 flagship phones from Microsoft | Windows Central ). That phone is still an ARM powered device, a replacement for the current 1520.

Current rumors point to next year for Intel based Windows phones.

930 is an awesome phone. I don't understand wht watchaa doesn't like it. I just recently got my 930 and i am very happy with it : ]

The 930 has been plagued with problems, I've had 2 myself both times the headphone socket failed, decided to get a refund & bought the 735 instead which I'm very happy with.

Tbh rather than buying the 930 now get yourself a cheaper 640 or the 735 & keep hold of the money until the 950 launches in the next couple of months or so.

The 735 i have now will tide me over till the launch of the 950.

i'm gonna wait too and i'm really excited for the presentation to the public (september 24th?)

i have a htc 8x and the lumia 930 is blinking me the eye a long time ago but it is worth the wait because of tecnhologies of continuum, iris scanner, better specs and because its the first flagship made by microsoft with his logo/brand.

I just hope that microsoft doesn't disapoint me and the others users with the design.

Where are you hearing these rumors (just curious)?

I think it would be a mistake for MS to price things that high given their position in the market.

To answer your question: I would wait.

Of course the 950 is better, but all depends on how much you want to spend.
