onedrive useing all storage on phone

don't know what is going on but it seems all my space is being used and i can't upload videos to onedrive without getting a popup about low storage. i upload stuff from computer to onedrive and it seems some how stuff is copied from onedrive to phone too? i don't know what is going on about about to delete stuff from onedrive to see if can get space back. every time i delete stuff from phone seems like being taken up by onedrive i guess? right now onedrive data size is 587MB and that seem to be way too much. what is going on and is there a setting i can change for this?
