windows 8 cant detect my ativ s

i really dont know if it is already posted

my windows 8 cant detect my ativ s. i have already installed windows phone app for desktop that also installs driver but it wont open.
it only charges when i connect then nothing happens.
i dont know if i have installed the correct driver but if someone please link me the right driver it would be cool !

Most people would tell you this , Restart , change the USB port , UNLOCK your phone FIRST if you use a pin code.
If non of the above worked visit your device manager and check how the lumia is perceived when plugged in , It also helps if you update your USB drivers as such problems are usually related to old USB drivers (check the model of your PC/Laptop and go online and get the appropriate drivers.)

did what you said nothing works.
but anyway when i go to device manager, under the other devices i see a windows phone 8 with an exclamation mark color yellow.
