WP 8.1 Storage Sense - keep data on SD card for reset?

Hey everyone,

I own a Lumia 620 with WP 8.1 DP and Lumia Black installed. As I do want to get Cyan on my phone and nobody really knows when or if it will ever be available for the DP channel, I decided to reset the phone using the Nokia Recovery Tool.
Now most of my stuff (app list, etc) will be backed up in the cloud (and I trust on that actually working) ... But I do actually want to keep my WhatsApp data (speak: chat history) and other things that probably won't be backed up over the Cloud. Now as Storage Sense allows me to move apps on my SD Card, would it work to keep WhatsApp on the SD Card, reset the phone and therefore keep the data, as the SD Card of course will not be formatted during the process?

I hope you guys understand what I mean. Would be very greatful for any tips!

Hmm.. Apps won't work with new OS that is added by NSRT. You will have to format memory card so it frees up the OTHER storage.
