    Hi,

i just bought a surface pro 2 for college. its about 2 weeks old. I use it for taking all notes and homework. I've recently been having problems with it shutting down randomly, which in class is a big problem.

I get no low battery warnings, and when the tablet is on its can be at 90% battery and this will still occur. Basically the screen will randomly go black and it won't come back on when I push the lock button or do anything else. Sometimes the home screen button will still vibrate even when the screen is black, but not always.

I'm thinking I may have received a faulty piece of hardware.

    Any help is greatly appreciated,
    Kevin

It's possible that you have a faulty piece.
But it also may shut down because it becomes to hot. This can be due to a faulty fan or that it just has no "space" to cool.
