glance screen isn't working

hi.

I have used a 1520 for some time and loved the glance screen feature. I have recently bought a lumia 532 as well and picked it specifically because it supports glance. However it doesn't work. I have it set to be always on to avoid any issues on trigger issues and nothing shows up. When I go to the glance screen settings it's a black empty screen with just the title "glance screen". When I restart the phone all the settings are visible until the glance screen should run. (ie I turn off the screen) When that happens all the settings vanish again until the next reboot. Anyone had this issue?

Do you have an app called Glance Background in your app list?

No. Should I have? I don't have anything on this phone that's not on the 1520
